It is also drawing a major chapter of my life to a close, as I’ve spent the better part of a decade with these characters in the Dreamborn world we created. I say ‘we created’ with sincerity, since it often seemed as if the characters themselves dictated where they wanted their stories to go. This is the first series I’ve completed as an author, and I don’t want to say that it is bittersweet, as it is far sweeter than it is bitter. I have truly never felt more proud of anything I’ve done. And although it is always sad to say goodbye to the things we hold dear, I can now turn fully to my next project with a content and grateful heart.
I’m also very thankful to everyone who has supported me along the way, from my incredible family and friends, to my editing team, to all the readers whom I’ve never met who took a chance on this particular contemporary YA sci-fantasy series. Thank you all for investing in this story and these characters! I hope that you have fully enjoyed their journey, and I hope you are as satisfied with the conclusion as I feel.
