About K.A. Vanderhoef

Ms. Vanderhoef grew up in Rockland County, New York, and spent a good portion of her childhood exploring imaginary worlds co-created with her triplet sisters or otherwise found between the pages of a book. She first fell in love with science-fiction / fantasy upon reading A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle as a child, and her all-time favorite series include Harry Potter, Red Rising, and Ender’s Game.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Quinnipiac University and a law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. She started writing speculative fiction and poetry while in law school, and her passion for this vital creative outlet has only increased during her years working as an attorney.

In addition to writing, she enjoys practicing daily meditation and mindfulness, studying metaphysics and philosophy, and spending time with her family. She currently lives in a peaceful lake community in New Jersey with her cat, Moxie.
